Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is not just three words built up by letters but a gateway through which each science student passes through, but only 10% of them are obliged to see the brighter side across it. It’s the bitter truth that every engineering aspirant has to taste; to some, it’s a sour fruit, but to some, it is sweet as honey.
JEE has now been conducted on a full online mode with the chance to sit for the paper in two sessions, the January and April sessions. A total of 11,18,673 students have appeared for IIT JEE 2019. Candidates also compete for NITS(NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY), IIITS(The Indian Institute of Information Technology), Government aided institutes, and some of the private colleges.

The idea of Distance Learning Program (DLP)
This screening test is held when a student is in its intermediate (class 12), so candidates have to go through the preparation of IIT JEE along with their board exams. As the board syllabus is itself such a gigantic ride, it is tough for many aspirants to balance both.
Moreover, the syllabus issued is basically on the NCERT criteria, so the candidates of the other boards, such as ICSE, have added pressure with the work of understanding NCERT too. So to ease the burden on the candidates, many coaching institutes came up with the idea of IIT distance education learning program (DLP).

The distance JEE preparations inculcate various advantages such as there is no cost of transportation, no time boundaries, no hard and fast rule of sitting in the classroom, or through a boring lecture, students can access the course at any sphere of the day, month and week. Many coaching institutes have assessment tests in their module, but with IIT distance education, one gets more time of self-assessment.
Detriments of DLP:
There is very little physical interaction with the mentor due to which some students face the problem of not being able to clarify some topics. This scheme destroys the essence of imbibing discipline, time management, and stress management, which are, again, essential things in anyone’s life.
IITs have a craze among all PCM students, and it is not going anywhere soon. DLPs have provided easy solutions to many problems. Students can now access these study materials from anywhere and learn at their own pace, which is surely a positive feature of modern technological trends.
